Emily deMontigny completed first year sciences at the University of Northern British Columbia, and then attended the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in New Westminster. She earned her license as a Registered Massage Therapist in 2002. She joined the team at Burnaby Heights Health Clinic in March 2003 and is fortunate to work in this special place with this dedicated staff.
Since starting her practice, Emily has continued post-graduate study in many areas to further her ability to help patients. She has obtained training in Craniosacral Technique to treat headaches, trauma and anxiety, Visceral Manipulation to reduce constipation and Systemic Deep Tissue Therapy to resolve chronic pain. She has also taken additional training to manage the childbearing years, including Support for Labour & Delivery, Exercises for Pregnancy Wellness and C-section recovery.
In addition to private practice, Emily supervises students in the WCCMT outreach. This program provides manual treatment to individuals living with serious illnesses. The benefits to the patients are improved comfort, mobility, energy, immunity and sleep.
In addition to work, Emily values a healthy lifestyle: prayer, family, friends, organic food, home cooking, running, and weight training. Emily is always happy to answer questions and accept new patients.
